Nola Holiday Homes

NOLA's stunning architecture becomes even more impressive during the holidays. Our real estate agents eagerly anticipate the visual delights on display at these holiday home tours taking place around New Orleans homes for sale.

  • PRC Annual Holiday Home Tour - The Rink Shopping Center, 2727 Prytania St., New Orleans, LA 70130
Since 1974, the Preservation Resource Center has been dedicated to the promotion and preservation of NOLA's historic architecture. After a two-year hiatus, the PRC Annual Holiday Home Tour is back for its 47th year. View six private homes and one bonus property in the iconic Garden District done up in their holiday finery. Live musical performances, along with book signings and design talks, add to the festivities. Be sure to visit the holiday boutique, featuring handmade art, clothing, and other gift items. Tours run from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. on Saturday, December 10, and Sunday, December 11. Tickets are $45.

  • Patio Planters Holiday Home Tour - The Cabildo, 701 Chartres St., New Orleans, LA 70130
There's always something happening in the French Quarter, and the holidays are no exception. Patio Planters Holiday Home Tour offers a delightful glimpse into stunning homes in this historic district. As a volunteer organization focused on the promotion and beautification of the French Quarter, Patio Planters sponsors this self-guided tour. Explore the various architectural and decorating styles found in the featured homes. Proceeds from the tour support the popular Caroling in Jackson Square event that takes place later that evening. Tours run from noon - 4 p.m. on Sunday, December 18. Tickets are $30 in advance and $35 the day of the event.

  • Holiday Traditions and Christmas Tree Lighting - New Orleans Spring Fiesta Headquarters, 826 Saint Ann St., New Orleans, LA 70116
New Orleans is a true melting pot of various cultures. Learn about their fascinating stories during a courtyard tour of homes with Holiday Traditions and Christmas Tree Lighting. Since food is a beloved part of every holiday, there will also be a tasting of Creole and Cajun dishes. The event is sponsored by the New Orleans Spring Fiesta Association, which, despite the name, promotes NOLA's cultural heritage year-round. Holiday Traditions is scheduled for the weekends of December 3-4, and 9-10 from 3 p.m. - 7 p.m. Admission is $30, with an additional $20 fee for the optional food tasting.

  • 19th-Century Christmas - Gallier House, 1132 Royal St., New Orleans, LA 70116
Examining traditions of the past often adds a valuable perspective to the present. Take a trip back in time to a 19th-Century Christmas at Gallier House. Once home to architect James Gallier, Jr. and his family, Gallier House incorporates classic NOLA architecture along with features that were ahead of their time in the 19th century. The centerpiece of the tour is a 19th-century Creole-style Christmas tree. Topics include holiday meals and decorating during the time period. Hermann-Grima House at 820 St. Louis St., the sister museum to Hallier House, will also be spotlighting historic holiday traditions. 19th-Century Christmas is open 9:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. daily from November 30 - January 9. Admission is $16 for adults and $13 for ages 8-18.
